One of the first things we have is a house spelling bee. Gold vs. Azure. Each grade level has 2 students from each house go up there and they spell words for 2 minutes and are awarded points for each correct word. The young kids were fantastic. The upper school kids couldn't spell anything...it was embarrassing.
We also had buddy reading twice over the course of the week. This is where older kids come and read with younger kids...and then vice versa.

The kid in yellow is Steven Spielberg...clever right?The day of the book parade was quite probably the longest half-day ever. And now we're on a five day holiday.
Yesterday we went to the beach and read. It was lovely. Jordon thought I was going to get pulled out to sea.
The sunsets are lovely here with the ocean, mountains and foliage. We probably should have pulled over to take a better shot of it...but just wanted to get home.

More pictures and posts please!! I love the little steven spielberg. Very classy as I would only expect from the children Melissa teaches. She exudes classiness.
